X Series E53 X5 3.0i (M54) OFFRD
Mark and cut cutting line (1) on inside of support carrier as shown
in illustration approx. 15 mm before spot flange on door pillar
(2).
Open welding spots on inside of support carrier (3) and upper
door pillar (4).
Remove wheel arch with inner support carrier.
Clean all connection points and coat with weld primer.
New part preparation:
Open welding spots (1) on wheel arch support to engine carrier
and remove engine carrier.
Mark inner support carrier according to severance cut on car, add
approx. 10 mm (2) and cut.
Step added area (2) towards outside.
Clean all connection points and coat with weld primer.
Fit new part with straightening attachment (1).
Plug-weld outer wheel arch support (2) to engine carrier.
Spot-weld inner support carrier (3). Secure stepped area
additionally with welding seams.
Weld wheel arch support in areas (1) and (2).
