Replacing rear axle carrier upper and lower
sections on left or right (partial replacement,
tail panel and luggage compartment floor)
Instructions for body repair.
Place vehicle on straightening bench.
Remove and/or loosen following components:
-
Insulating mat, wheel arch, rear left or right.
-
Cover, wheel arch, rear left or right.
Vehicle parts located in the repair zone or threatened by heat,
sparks or dust must be removed or covered.
View from vehicle interior:
Mark rear axle carrier upper section according to measurement A
and cut.
Measurement A = approx. 265 mm from beading edge of spring
cup.
Open welding spots (1) and weld seams (2).
Remove rear axle carrier upper section.
Mark rear axle carrier lower section according to measurement B
and cut.
Measurement B = approx. 50 mm from cutting edge of rear axle
carrier upper section.
Open welding spots (1).
Remove rear axle carrier lower section.
