Replacing power steering gear
Important!
Adhere to the utmost cleanliness. Do not allow any dirt to
enter the hydraulic system.
Seal off pipe connections with plugs.
After installation:
•
Fill and bleed hydraulic system
•
Check pipe connections for leaks
•
Perform chassis alignment check
•
Carry out steering angle sensor adjustment
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Draw off and dispose off hydraulic fluid from fluid reservoir
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations
•
Remove front wheels
•
Remove underbody protection
•
Remove reinforcement plate
•
Move engine into installation position, raise and secure (refer
to Removing oil sump)
•
Remove tie rod end on both sides
•
Remove double joint from power steering gear
Unfasten screws.
Installation:
Replace screws and self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque 32 00 1AZ
.
Check distance between engine carrier and stem of double joint!
