Removing and installing/replacing diesel
particulate filter (M57T2)
Warning!
Scalding hazard!
Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove exhaust system.
•
Remove right engine support arm
•
Unlock and disconnect plugs for oxygen sensor and both
exhaust-gas temperature sensors. Detach hose from
exhaust-gas pressure sensor.
Release screw on turbocharger flange.
Tightening torque 18 32 1AZ
.
Remove V-clamp (1).
Installation:
V-clamp must be replaced each time it is opened.
Replace seal.
Release catalytic converter suspension bolts (1).
Installation:
Tightening torque, 18 20 2AZ
.
Release catalytic converter retaining screws (2).
Installation:
Tightening torque 18 20 3AZ
.
Remove diesel particulate filter.
