compatible with the customer's vehicle, use the currently valid compatibility matrix table to
check whether it can be adapted to the vehicle.

- 

If no, the mobile phone cannot be made compatible with the vehicle electrical system
and there can be no settlement through warranty.

- 

If yes, check with the customer whether the "EUR 99 solution" described in the
"Action" section of this Service Information bulletin should be carried out.

Carrying out an upgrade while adhering to the above-mentioned criteria

Model series: E60, E61, E63, E64, E65, E66 E87, E90, E91, E92, E93, E70:

- 

Replacement of the telephone control unit (MULF, TCU) is not permitted.

- 

Programming and encoding of the control units with the current Progman version.

- 

Conversion via path - Perform "Mobile phone upgrade" conversion.

Model series: E46, E53, E83, E85, E86, R50, R52, R53

- 

Replace telephone control units (ULF, TCU) with current hardware according to parts
listing.

- 

If parts clearing for the affected control unit is active in your own market, follow the
parts clearing process.

Note:

If, on account of the measures plan in Progman, a repeat of programming and/or a
replacement of control units is stipulated, proceed as follows:

- 

Print out measures plan.

- 

In markets which require parts to be returned, send in the measures plan with
the parts which have to be returned.

- 

In markets which do not require parts to be returned, store the measures plan
in the vehicle records.

- 

Settle the claim under the temporary defect code listed below.

Catalogue (ETK) whether the part number listed below for the telephone control unit
corresponds to the last modification status.
If necessary, the entry in the ETK is definitive.
