Removing and installing engine (M57TU)
Special tools required:
•
11 0 020
•
11 0 250
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Disconnect battery negative lead. (Follow instructions for
disconnecting and connecting battery).
•
Lift engine hood into assembly position.
•
Remove design cover.
•
Remove air cleaner housing.
•
Remove manifold.
•
Remove clean air duct.
•
Remove heater bulkhead.
•
Remove left assembly partition wall.
•
Release engine wiring harness from electronics box.
•
Drain coolant.
•
Remove expansion tank.
•
Remove radiator.
•
Remove A/C compressor drive belt.
•
Remove alternator drive belt.
•
Disconnect fuel line (feed and return).
•
Remove front/middle underbody protection.
•
Remove reinforcement plate.
•
Remove both drive shafts.
•
Remove water valve with auxiliary heater.
•
Remove double joint from steering gear.
•
Release A/C compressor and place to one side.
•
Remove exhaust system.
•
Remove transmission.
