Adding coolant:
Note:
•
The cooling system is vented during the filling procedure.
•
The vent plug on the radiator feed connection must not be
opened.
•
No vent screws on radiator or on thermostat housing.
Before filling:

Switch ignition on
-
Set heater control to maximum temperature.

Set fan to low setting. This opens the heating valves.
Open vent screw (1).
Perform filling operation slowly.
Close vent plug when bubble-free coolant emerges. Top up
coolant expansion tank up to maximum cold fill level. Refer to
picture on expansion tank.
Run engine up to operating temperature until the thermostat
opens.
Allow engine to cool down until coolant temperature drops below
30
°
C.
Slowly open cap so that residual pressure reduces gradually.
Correct fill level in accordance with picture on expansion tank.
Important!
Do not fill coolant expansion tank over maximum fill level as
overfilling will cause the coolant to overflow. This may give
rise to traces of residual coolant on the expansion tank or in
the engine compartment and wrongly suggest possible
leakages.
Check cooling system for leaks.
