BMW Workshop Service and Repair Manuals

Attach special tool  31 2 153  with spindles 31 2 154  to control
arm opening.

Install new bracket with special tools  00 7 500 , 31 2 152  and 
31 2 157  on control arm pin up to marking.

Relieve tension on special tool. Check position of rubber mount to
marking and correct if necessary.

Check threads for damage; if necessary, repair with Helicoil thread
inserts.

Install heat shield (3).

Align bracket (2) to engine carrier.

Replace bolts (1) and tighten down.

Tightening torque 31 12 7AZ

After installation:

•

Check freedom of movement of other components to bracket

for control arm
