Replacing battery positive lead
Warning!
Scalding hazard!
Only perform the following tasks after the vehicle has cooled
down.
Observe safety instructions for handling vehicle battery.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove panel for battery container
•
Disconnect negative battery cable
Unlock positive terminal cover (2) and remove.
Release nut (3) of safety battery terminal (1).
Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ
.
Important!
Do not under any circumstances pull/lever safety battery
terminal (1) off by force.
Detach safety battery terminal (1) towards top.
Release nut (1) on safety battery terminal (2).
Tightening torque 61 21 4AZ
.
Remove battery positive cable (3).
