Removing and installing/replacing bottom left
control arm

Special tools required:

26 1 040

33 4 420

Note:

If the lower control arm is detached from the rear axle
carrier/trailing arm, it is necessary after reinstallation to carry out a
wheel/chassis alignment check.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove rear wheel

Remove stabilizer from rear axle carrier

S54:

Remove propeller shaft on final drive.

M54:

Remove exhaust system.

Remove tunnel thermal insulation.

Release threaded ring several turns with special tool  26 1 040 .

Tightening torque 26 11 3AZ
