Removing and installing/replacing hydraulic
cylinder for convertible top
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Observe notes on EH convertible top.
•
Remove convertible top
•
Remove hydraulic unit
Installation:
•
Carry out function test
•
Check fluid level, remove/replenish if necessary
•
Check convertible top adjustment.
Release screws (1); if necessary, raise convertible top slightly
and remove microswitch (2).
Note:
Further information in MG 61
Disconnecting hydraulic lines:
•
Cut through cable ties
•
Remove clips
•
Pull out hydraulic line at top
•
Unscrew plate
•
Pull out hydraulic line at bottom
Note:
Seal hydraulic lines with caps (sourcing reference: BMW Parts
Service).
