Replacing complete steering lock
Special tools required:
•
13 5 250
•
13 5 255
•
32 4 270
Important!
Reinstall steering tube within three hours.
Note: The spline teeth (1) can swell up when the steering
tube is removed. This swelling will prevent the steering tube
and steering spindle from being able to be joined.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Move steering column into "middle" and "extended" position
•
Remove fixture for steering column stalk
•
If necessary, remove interlock cable from steering column
•
Remove ignition starter switch
•
Remove lock cylinder with O-ring
Unclip wiring harness (1) and remove cable duct from steering
lock.
Remove Seeger circlip ring (2).
Pull steering tube with special tools 13 5 255 and 13 5 250
out of steering column.
