Removing and installing complete left or right
spring strut shock absorber
Special tools required:
•
31 2 230
•
31 5 220
Important!
If the centering pin is missing, the position of the studs to the
wheel arch must be marked so that the original camber is
approximately maintained.
Only one nut may ever be released for marking.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove front wheel
•
Remove stabilizer link from spring strut
•
Remove tie rod end from steering knuckle
Centering pin missing: Make position of studs in relation to wheel
arch.
Release nuts (1) by two turns.
Note:
To make it easier to lower the steering knuckle (to reduce
distortion between spring strut and spring strut dome), it is
necessary to slacken the support bearing screw connection.
