Replacing stabilizer links for stabilizer

Necessary preliminary tasks:

•

Remove stabilizer

Unscrew nut (1).

Release screw and remove bracket (2).

Installation:

Rib (3) on bracket (2) must point to opposite stabilizer link.

Replace self-locking nut.

Align bracket (2) using specified angle to stabilizer link and
tighten down nut (1).

Tightening torque 33 55 4AZ

Clamp stabilizer link in vice with protective vice jaws.

Pull off stabilizer with rotational movements.

If the rubber mount remains on the stabilizer, it must be cut
through with the blade and pulled off.

Installation:

Clamp new stabilizer link in vice with protective vice jaws.

Moisten end of stabilizer and inside of rubber mount with Circolight
mounting agent (refer to BMW Parts Service).

Press stabilizer as far as possible into stabilizer link with rotary
motions.
