Locked convertible top not folded away
E85
Complaint:
The locked convertible top is not properly folded away. When the opening process has
been completed, the red indicator lamp in the switch in centre console lights up
permanently.
Cause:
The problem may be attributed to the following causes:

Climatic conditions affecting the rigidness of the convertible top
-
Tolerances in the height of the stowage compartment
-
Incorrect folding of the convertible top when it is opened

Manufacturing period: from September 2002 to April 2006
Procedure:
In case of customer complaint, the following remedies should be performed, depending on
the manufacturing period of the vehicle:
Replace the complete hydraulic unit,
see RA 54 34 954.
Note:
Fit a new hydraulic unit with
new stop screw, see "Parts".
Remove the convertible top lock
(stowage compartment lock),
see RA 54 31 165.
Note:
Stowage compartment lock
discontinued.
