Removing and installing complete exhaust
system (S54)
Warning!
Scalding hazard!
These tasks should only be carried out on an exhaust system
that has cooled down.
Important!
Removal of the exhaust system must be carried out with the
assistance of a second person.
Support exhaust system with lifter; note that the two rear
mufflers make the exhaust system heavier at the rear that at
the front.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove both tension struts
•
Remove reinforcement plate
•
Remove cover for carbon canister
Unscrew nuts.
Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts.
Replace seal.
Coat thread with copper paste, refer to BMW Parts Service.
Tightening torque 18 40 2AZ
