Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair
ECT Sensor
Removal
1.
Relieve coolant pressure.
2.
Disconnect negative battery cable.
3.
Disconnect ECT sensor electrical connector.
4.
Carefully remove sensor.
Installation
1.
Coat threads with sealant, P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
2.
Install ECT sensor into engine. Tighten sensor to 25 N-m (18.5 lb.ft.).
3.
Reconnect ECT sensor to electrical connector.
4.
Reconnect negative battery cable.
5.
Refill lost coolant.
