It is not necessary or recommended to measure the piston to bore clearance when installing these piston and connecting rod assemblies.
Important:
All four pistons must be replaced.

6b-8 of the 1996 J car Service Manual (found in Service Bulletin 63-62-03).
Important:
The use of mechanical fill equipment is not recommended.
