Century L4-2.2L VIN 4 (1994)
4. Remove jackstand.
5. Left front tire and wheel assembly.
6. Lower vehicle.
TRANSAXLE BRACKET
Tool Required: J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture.
Remove or Disconnect
1. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Install engine support fixture (J 28467-A).
3. Loosen nut for strut bracket.
4. Torque strut bolt.
5. Upper transaxle bracket bolt.
6. Transaxle bracket nut.
7. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
8. Left front tire and wheel assembly.
9. Left lower engine splash shield.
10. Pinch bolt from intermediate shaft.
11. Transaxle bracket to mount nuts.
12. Frame to transaxle mount nuts.
13. Left side bolt and nut from ball joint.
14. Install jackstands.
15. Right side frame bolts.
16. Left side frame bolts.
17. Lower frame.
18. Transaxle mount.
19. Transaxle bracket nut, bolts and bracket.
Install or Connect
1. Transaxle bracket, nuts and bolts.
Tighten
^ Rear bolt/screw to 87 Nm (64 lb. ft.).
^ Remaining bolts/screws to 52 Nm (39 lb. ft.).
^ Nut to 32 Nm (24 lb. ft.).
2. Transaxle mount and nuts.
Tighten Nuts to 53 Nm (39 lb. ft.).
3. Raise frame.
4. New left side frame bolts.
5. New right side frame bolts.
NOTICE: Whenever frame to body bolts are loosened or removed, they should be replaced with new parts and tightened to 140 Nm (103 lb. ft.).
Failure to replace frame to body bolts may result in damage to the frame, powertrain or suspension.
6. Remove jackstands.
7. Left side bolt and nut to ball joint.
8. Frame to transaxle mount nuts.
9. Transaxle bracket to mount nuts.
10. Pinch bolt to intermediate shaft.
11. Left lower engine splash shield.
12. Left front tire and wheel assembly.
13. Lower vehicle.
14. Upper transaxle bracket nut.
15. Upper transaxle bracket bolt.
16. Torque strut bolt.
17. Strut bracket nut.
18. Remove engine support fixture.
19. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
