Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
Right Side (Rear)
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Air cleaner and inlet hose.
3. Crossover.
4. Raise vehicle.
5. Heat shield.
6. Exhaust pipe.
7. Manifold bolts.
8. EGR pipe.
9. AIR control valve (if equipped).
10. Oxygen sensor wire.
11. Manifold.
CLEAN
^ Mating surfaces at cylinder head and manifold.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New gasket.
2. Manifold into position.
Tighten
^ Manifold bolts 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft. lb.)
3. EGR pipe.
4. AIR control valve assembly (if equipped).
5. Oxygen sensor wire.
6. Heat shield.
Tighten
^
Bolts to 10 Nm (90 in. lb.).
7. Exhaust pipe.
Tighten
^
Bolts to 34 Nm (25 ft. lb.).
8. Lower vehicle.
9. Crossover pipe.
Tighten
^
Bolts to 34 Nm (25 ft. lb.).
10. Air cleaner and inlet hose.
