Remove either of the existing nuts shown in the Illustration. If the stud is already cadmium plated (silver colored), this procedure is not required
and normal service manual procedures should be used to diagnose condition.
2.
Wire brush the stud to a bare metal appearance on some of the threads.
3.
Replace the nut with P/N 11502812. This nut has an electrically conductive coating (cadmium) for proper grounding.
4.
Vehicles made after approximately 1-1-88 should have a cadmium plated stud already installed from the factory.
