A light to heavy knocking noise, often described as lifter noise, may be audible in the passenger compartment on 1987 Centurys equipped with 2.8L V6
engines. This noise is normally most apparent at engine idle.
This condition is caused by pressure pulsations in the fuel system generated by fuel injector operation resulting in the subject noise.
Owner's complaining of this noise should be advised that continued operation of their vehicle will not adversely affect durability or reliability. The
condition is under investigation and a dealer service bulletin will be published as soon as a correction is available.
