A/C Pressure Sensor/Switch - Cooling Fan: All Technical Service Bulletins
Engine/A/C - Cooling Fan Inoperative

Bulletin:

87-1-16

Date:

Dec., '87

Ref. No.:  87-208-1

Corp. Ref. No.:  738105
SUBJECT:

INOPERATIVE COOLING FAN WITH HIGH A/C HEAD PRESSURE

MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 CENTURYS WITH THE LB6 2.8L MPFI ENGINE (VIN CODE W) AND C60 AIR CONDITIONING
Condition:

The engine cooling fan may not operate when the A/C head pressure is high, which could lead to insufficient A/C cooling, or an
overheated engine.

Cause:

The retaining ramp on the cooling fan pressure switch is backwards. This was changed in production early in the 1988 model year by first
using a tie-strap and then by changing the ramp on the switch.
