Remove air cleaner wing nut, lift air cleaner assembly off from carburetor and position toward front of vehicle to expose EGR valve solenoid.
Refer to Figure 1.

Remove the emission harness connector from the EGR solenoid.

Insert an awl or small screwdriver into both solenoid hoses as shown to clear any restrictions. Refer to Figure 2. Be careful not to puncture wall of
hoses.
6.
Check to be sure that hoses are not plugged by blowing air through them. If required, repeat step 4. Reinstall harness connector on solenoid.
7.
Reinstall air cleaner assembly, being sure all hoses are connected and the PCV valve is installed in the intake manifold.
