Driveability Corrections

MODELS AFFECTED:

1982 Centurys Equipped With A 3.0L (V6) Federal Engine (VIN Code "E")

A new calibrated PROM and EGR Valve has been released for production and service on 1982 Centurys equipped with Federal 3.OL engines. These
parts are to be used for dealer correction if any one of or combination of the conditions listed below exist after it has been determined that affected
systems are within specifications and are functioning normally.

Fix

Chuggle at 40-50 MPH      PROM only (engages at 50 MPH)

^

Tip-in Hesitation         EGR only

^

Chuggle 40-60 MPH         PROM & EGR (EGR reduces lighter than road load chuggle)

Before a decision is made to install a PROM and EGR Valve, vehicle should be roadtested, if possible, for the owner described conditions and vehicle
systems checked to determine if adjustments are within specifications.

Unless all areas listed on the checklist are correct, a PROM and EGR valve will not be effective for the purpose intended. Use the enclosed checklist for
assistance when necessary.

Any time all of the three (3) conditions are encountered and the enclosed checklist did not assist in curing the condition, use the PROM and EGR, for all
three (3) conditions.
