1.
Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
2.
Remove serpentine drive belt, then heater hoses.
3.
Disconnect lower radiator and coolant bypass hoses from cover.
4.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove right front wheel.
5.
Remove right inner fender splash shield.
6.
Remove torque converter cover, then prevent flywheel from turning using suitable tool.
7.
Remove balancer bolt and washer, then remove balancer assembly.
8.
Disconnect electrical connections at camshaft, crankshaft and oil pressure sensors.
9.
Remove bolts attaching engine front cover to cylinder block, then oil pan to engine front cover bolts.
10.
Remove engine front cover assembly and gasket.
11.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Adjust crankshaft sensor using tool shown in Fig. 5.
b. When reinstalling engine front cover bolts, apply a suitable sealer to the threads to prevent leakage.
c. Torque all bolts/nuts to specifications.
