Energy Absorber Pad Replacement - Rear Door
Removal Procedure
Caution: This vehicle has energy-absorbing foam blocks for side impact protection. To help avoid personal injury in a collision, foam blocks that are
damaged, or removed during repairs must be replaced. Failure to replace foam blocks that are removed can violate federal law.
1. Remove the water deflector. Refer toWater Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (See: ) .
2. Remove the window regulator. Refer toWindow Regulator Replacement - Rear Door
3. Remove energy absorber clip.
4. Grasp the energy absorber with both hands and remove from the front door.
Installation Procedure
1. Remove the protective tape from the adhesive strip on the back side of the absorber pad.
2. Install the energy absorber pad to the front door, Pressing firmly until the energy absorber pad is fully seated.
3. Install the energy absorber clip.
4. Install the window regulator. Refer toWindow Regulator Replacement - Rear Door
5. Install the water deflector. Refer toWater Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (See: ) .
