Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear

Tools Required

J 38778  Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment.
2. If equipped, remove the rear compartment convenience net.
3. If equipped, remove the rear compartment convenience net retainers.
4. If equipped, remove the communication interface module. Refer toCommunication Interface Module Replacement    in Cellular Communication.
5. Remove the seat back. Refer toSeat Back Replacement - Rear (Non-folding)   (See: Seats/Seat Back/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Seat Back Replacement - Rear (Non-folding))Seat Back Replacement - Rear (Folding)   (See: Seats/Seat Back/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Seat Back Replacement - Rear (Folding)) in Seats.

6. If non-folding rear seat back, remove the child seat belt bracket. Refer toBracket Replacement - Child Seat Belt Restraint System    in Seat Belts.
7. On non-folding rear seats, reposition the quarter panel lower trim to enable the sound barrier to be repositioned.
8. On non-folding seats, reposition the sound barrier to access the trim panel retainers.

9. UseJ 38778   to remove the push-in retainers from the trim panels.

10. Slide the panels off the metal supports.

11. Remove the spare tire cover from the rear compartment.
12. Remove the spare tire.
