Rear Shelf: Service and Repair

Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf

Tools Required

J 38778  Door Trim Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer toSeat Cushion Replacement - Rear   (See: Seats/Seat Cushion/Service and Repair/Removal and

2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer toSeat Back Replacement - Rear (Non-folding)   (See: Seats/Seat Back/Service and Repair/Removal and

3. Remove the rear upper quarter trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper   (See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Trim

Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper) .

4. UseJ 38778   to remove the push pins from the panel front.
5. Lift the panel and remove the seat belts through the slots in the trim panel.
6. Front inside the rear compartment, disengage the clip by the high mount stoplamp.
7. Slide the panel forward to disengage the integral hook from the retaining hole.
8. Disconnect the electrical cable connector for the high mount stoplamp, located on the passenger end of panel.
9. Remove the rear shelf from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the panel in the vehicle.

2. Connect the electrical cable connector for the high mount stoplamp, located on the passenger end of panel.
3. Slide the panel rearward to engage the integral hook in the retaining hole.
4. Lift the panel and route the seat belts through the slots in the trim panel.
5. Install the push pins in the panel front.
6. Install the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper   (See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Trim Panel

7. Install the rear seat back. Refer toSeat Back Replacement - Rear (Non-folding)   (See: Seats/Seat Back/Service and Repair/Removal and

8. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer toSeat Cushion Replacement - Rear   (See: Seats/Seat Cushion/Service and Repair/Removal and
