Ambient Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Service and Repair

Outside Air Temperature Sensor

Remove or Disconnect

1. Battery ground (negative) cable. 
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. 
3. Electrical connector at temperature sensor located on the front radiator air baffle.
4. Temperature sensor from radiator air baffle.

Install or Connect

1. Temperature sensor to the radiator air baffle.
2. Electrical connector to sensor. Verify electrical connection at right hand rail near shock tower base.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Battery ground (negative) cable. 
5. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 mph for more than three minutes to get ambient update.

Note: If vehicle speed drops below 20 mph during the 3 minute test, the sensor will not update.
