PROCEDURE 11 - MOTOR END COVER REPLACEMENT
1.
Check motor grounds. If ground is poor, install ground clip (P/N 22048623).
2.
Cheek armature for open circuit.
3.
Check circuit breaker for intermittent open.
4.
Check brush plate assembly for restricted brush to commutator contact.
5.
Replace motor end cap, P/N 22038791.
To replace motor end cap:
a.
Disassemble end cap by bending fasten tabs outward and remove end cap from armature shaft (see Figure 1). Do not remove armature.
b.
Spray "spray on" 2002 T.F. electrical contact and tape head cleaner or equivalent on clean cloth and wipe commutator clean.
C.
Install new end cap and bend fasten tabs back to original position.
d.
Install ground clip, P/N 22048623.
