SUBJECT:
HEADLINER LOOSE AT REAR (REAR WINDOW AREA)
MODELS AFFECTED: ALL 1986 THRU 1988 LESABRES
Some LeSabres may exhibit a condition of the headliner losing retention to roof underside at the rear window area. This condition may be caused by one
or more of the three (3) hook fasteners losing retention from the roof crossbow (box section) at the rear window area (see Illustration, Figure 1).
REPAIR THE ABOVE CONDITION AS FOLLOWS:
1.
Remove headliner assembly per Body Service Manual, Section 8C.
2.
Prepare a drill using a 1/8" drill bit with a stop spacer over the bit allowing only 1/4" of the bit to be exposed (to ensure the bit doesn't contact the
roof underside).
3.
Remove hook portion of fastener (which will be attached to pile portion) from headliner.
