Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
Remove injection nozzle, then connect suitable tester and gauge following tool manufacturer's instructions. Operate tester handle several times and
observe gauge reading just before oil is sprayed from injector tip. Minimum injection nozzle opening pressure for new nozzles should be as follows: On
1982-83 V8-350, 1225 psi; and on 1984-85 V8-350, 1000 psi. Used nozzles should be approximately 150-200 psi less than new nozzles. Spray pattern
should be uniform and atomized near the nozzle tip, Any solid column of fuel or small droplets forming near the tip is unacceptable.
