Brake Fluid Pump: Service and Repair

Refer to Figure 1 and follow these steps:
1.
Depressurize the hydraulic accumulator
2.
Remove the return hose from the pump and drain the reservoir fluid into a container. Do not re-use this fluid.
3.
Remove the hydraulic accumulator from the pump
4.
Remove the high-pressure hose from the pump
5.
Disconnect the pump and pressure switch electrical connectors.
6.
Remove the pump mounting bolt (and washer), using a 13 mm socket and driver.
7.
Remove the pump from the hydraulic unit by sliding it from its mounting pin.
8.
Transfer these parts to the replacement pump:
^The return hose fitting with its O-ring seal and retainer clip.
^The three pump insulators and mounting bolt sleeve
^The pressure switch with its O-ring seal
9.
Install the pump by sliding it onto its mounting pin.
10.
Install the pump mounting bolt (and washer), tightening it to 8 N-m (70 lb. in.) torque.
11.
Attach the electrical connectors for the pump and pressure switch.
12.
Install the high-pressure hose with its O-ring, seals.
