Brake Hydraulic Unit: Service and Repair
Valve Block

VALVE BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Depressurize hydraulic accumulator by applying and releasing the service brake pedal a minimum of 20 times using approximately 222 N (50 lbs.)

force on the pedal. A noticeable change in pedal feel will occur when the accumulator is completely discharged.

3. Hydraulic unit.
4. Drain brake fluid.

Valve Block Removal

5. Three nuts and washers as marked by an * in figure.
6. Valve block assembly and O-rings by sliding valve block off of studs.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Lubricate 0-rings with brake fluid.
2. Valve block and 0-rings onto master cylinder body.

Valve Block Removal

3. Three washers and nuts as marked by an * in figure.
4. Hydraulic unit.
5. Refill with brake fluid.
6. Negative battery cable.
7. Bleed hydraulic system.
