The temperature gage system operates such that the gage pointer movement is nonlinear. Present graphics have linearly spaced graduations with
temperatures given for the high and low ends of the scale. This has lead to customer misinterpretation of engine operating temperature and
requests to dealers for temperature gage repairs (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
The condition was resolved by modifying temperature graphics in such a manner as to clearly indicate engine operating temperature.
To correct conditions 1 and 2, it will be necessary to remove the cluster and send to an AC-Delco Service Center for an exchange unit.
