Important
Because the fan can be assembled into the shroud in three different positions, before removing either of the electric fans, use a paint stick or
similar marking device to note the orientation of each fan in order to reassemble each fan into the same exact position.
5. Remove one or both of the electric fans as needed, and inspect for witness marks (1) where the fan is hitting the shroud as indicated in the above
illustration. Both the top and the bottom of the shroud have this area that may come in contact with the fan.
6. Using a suitable grinding tool, carefully remove the excess material until the area is smooth and all contact with the fan has been eliminated as
indicated in the above illustration.
7. Install the cooling fan and shroud assembly. Refer to the Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement procedure in SI.
