Parking Brake Shoe Replacement

Removal Procedure
Caution:  Refer to Brake Dust Caution   .

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   .
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation   .
3. Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement  (See: Disc Brake System/Brake Rotor/Disc/Service and Repair/Removal

and Replacement/Rear Brake Rotor Replacement) .

4. Retract the park brake shoe adjuster to ease removal. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment  (See: Adjustments) .

5. Remove the upper park brake shoe retainer spring (1).
6. Remove the park brake shoe adjuster (2).
