Hazard Button or HVAC Control Buttons May Stick When Depressed (Remove Excess Material On Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate)

Condition
Some customers may comment that the hazard button and/or the HVAC control buttons may stick when depressed.
Cause
There may be a slight amount of excess material on the instrument panel accessory trim plate at the openings for these control buttons.
Correction
1. Test the operation of the control buttons in order to determine which buttons are the source of the customer concern. If any of the buttons stick when
depressed, proceed with this bulletin.
2. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to the Service Information procedure for Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate
Replacement.
3. Place the trim plate on a clean protected workbench.
4. Use a fine file or an emery board to gently remove any excess material until the area is smooth and all contact with the buttons has been eliminated.
5. Verify the proper operation of the control buttons, then install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to the Service Information procedure
for Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement.
