12. Remove the pressure hose fitting (1) from the steering gear.
13. Unclip the power steering pressure hose retaining clips (2). Replace the retaining clips as necessary.
14. Remove the pressure hose from the vehicle. Discard the pressure hose and the hose connector.
15. Ensure a retaining ring seal is not in the power steering pump outlet port. Discard the retaining ring seal.
Installation Procedure
Important: A new power steering gear inlet pressure hose does not come with the hose connector or the retaining ring seal. A new hose connector
comes with a new power steering pump, and is available separately. A new retaining ring seal comes with a new power steering pump, and is available
separately.
1.
Install a NEW retaining ring seal to the power steering pump outlet port.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners
requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use
paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint
clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid
damage to parts and systems.
Important: Hand tighten all fittings and retaining clips before finalizing any torques.
2.
Install a NEW hose connector to the power steering pump outlet port.
Tighten
Hose connector to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).
3.
Position the pressure hose in the vehicle.
