Strut Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution:  Use only the recommended tools for separating the ball joint from the knuckle. Do NOT hammer or pry the ball joint from the knuckle.
Failure to use the recommended tools may cause damage to the ball joint and seal.

1. Remove the strut-to-body mount nuts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   (See: Wheels and Tires/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation   (See: Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).
4. Remove the stabilizer shaft link from the strut. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement   (See: Stabilizer Bar/Stabilizer Link/Service and

Repair/Rear Suspension).

5. Scribe the strut to the knuckle.
