Remote Vehicle Start (RVS) System Inoperative, Intermittent Operation, DTCs P0053/P0054 Set (Reroute PCM Harness)

with Remote Vehicle Start (RPO AP3) and 3.8L Engine (VIN 2 - RPO L26)
Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to update the warranty information to include diagnosis time. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 06-08-52-001
(Section 08 - Body & Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment that the remote vehicle start is inoperative or shuts off before allowed run time. This condition may be intermittent, and
upon investigation, the technician may also find DTCs P0053 and P0054 set.
Cause
The Remote Vehicle Start (RVS) system is being disabled due to vehicle speed signal (VSS) detection by the PCM. This is the result of the PCM harness
being routed on top of and touching the rear bank spark plug wires.
Tip
This cause can be confirmed using the Tech 2(R) and viewing RVS disable history.
Correction
Reroute the engine compartment PCM harness away from the spark plug wires using the procedure listed below.
Remove the engine sight shield.
Observe the PCM harness (1) touching the plug wires. Remove the generator rear brace.
