Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair
Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the
door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.
1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front
Door/Front Door Panel/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and
Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door Panel/Service and Repair).
Notice: Refer to Paint Damage Notice.
3. Apply masking tape to the outer reveal.
4. Raise the window far enough in order to gain access through the inner door panel to the window guide retainer clip.
5. Push inward on the window guide retainer clip locks, lift upward on the window until released from the retaining clip.
6. Raise the window to the full up position and tape in place.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the power window motor by pulling up on the tab to release it.
8. Remove the bolt from the window regulator motor (3).
9. Remove the nuts (2, 4) from the window regulator studs.
10. Remove the window regulator and motor through the access opening in the inner door panel.
11. Remove the power window motor from the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor Replacement (See: Power
Window Motor/Front Door Window Motor/Service and Repair).
