Attention:
SERVICE MANAGER & PARTS MANAGER: It is estimated that less than 20 vehicles world-wide will require replacement of the BPMV. Parts
should only be ordered when inspection determines that it is necessary to replace the BPMV.
Supercede:
The Part Information section in this bulletin has been revised to instruct dealers to order the required module, if necessary, by contacting the Technical
Assistance Center.Please discard all copies of bulletin 10257A, issued October 2010.
Condition
Certain 2011 model year Buick LaCrosse vehicles were built with a Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) that contains a pressure relief valve that
may not perform to GM specification under certain Antilock Braking (ABS) events. During normal braking and routine ABS events, the BPMV will
perform as intended; however, a suspect pressure relief valve may not release a "locked wheel" during a "panic stop" type braking event until the driver
begins to release the brake pedal. A vehicle with this condition will not see a degradation in stopping distance on dry pavement with a single-wheel lock
up; however, the vehicle performance may not be as stable during heavy braking.
Correction
Dealers are to inspect and, if necessary, replace the BPMV.

Involved are certain 2011 model year Buick LaCrosse vehicles built within these VIN breakpoints:

Dealers are to confirm vehicle eligibility prior to beginning repairs by using the Required Field Actions section in the Global Warranty system.
Not all vehicles within the above breakpoints may be involved.
For dealers with involved vehicles, a listing with involved vehicles containing the complete vehicle identification number, customer name, and address
information has been prepared and will be provided to US and Canadian dealers through the GM GlobalConnect Recall Reports, or sent directly to
export dealers. Dealers will not have a report available if they have no involved vehicles currently assigned.
The listing may contain customer names and addresses obtained from Motor Vehicle Registration Records. The use of such motor vehicle registration
data for any purpose other than follow-up necessary to complete this program is a violation of law in several states/provinces/countries. Accordingly, you
are urged to limit the use of this report to the follow-up necessary to complete this program.
