Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
Intake Manifold Replacement
Intake Manifold Replacement (LE5)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation hose/pipe/tube. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (LE5) (See:
Powertrain Management/Emission Control Systems/Positive Crankcase Ventilation/PCV Valve Hose/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement (See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air
Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement).
3. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve tube. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (See:
Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Line Coupler/Service and Repair/Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
4. Reposition the brake booster vacuum hose clamp at the intake manifold.
5. Remove the brake booster hose from the intake manifold.
6. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the fuel injector inline electrical connector.
7. Remove the fuel injector inline connector clip from the intake manifold.
8. Disconnect the MAP sensor connector.
9. Remove the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement (See: Engine Lubrication/Engine Oil Dip Stick - Dip Stick
Tube/Service and Repair).
10. Remove the engine wire harness clip from the intake manifold.
11. Remove the intake manifold insulator.
12. Remove the fuel pump cover.
13. Disconnect the fuel feed hose from the chassis fuel line.
