Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensor Replacement (LE5, LE9 Or LAF)

Removal Procedure

1. Hoist and raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).

2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (3) from the knock sensor electrical connector (4).
3. Remove the knock sensor electrical connector (4) from the oil level indicator tube bracket.

4. Remove the knock sensor bolt.
5. Remove the knock sensor.
