3. Locate the power steering inlet hose bolt (4). The bolt is located on the bottom side of the power steering pump.
4. Determine if the power steering inlet hose bolt is gold (first design) (1) or silver (second design) (2).

If the power steering inlet hose bolt is gold (1), proceed to Step 5.

-

If the power steering inlet hose bolt is silver (2), proceed to Step 14.

5. Place a drain pan under the vehicle and below the power steering pump.
6. Remove the power steering inlet hose bolt (4) and two copper seals (3). Allow the fluid to drain.

7. Install two new copper seals, P/N 13305013 and the second design silver bolt, P/N13280036. Tighten the bolt to 35 Nm(26 lb-ft) using a torque

wrench. Use care to ensure that the power steering hose does not rotate and contact the body side rail.

8. Partially lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.
9. Open the hood and fill the power steering fluid reservoir with fluid to the minimum system level, the FULL COLD level, or the middle of the hash

mark on the cap stick fluid level indicator, as applicable.

10. With the key in the ON position and with the engine ON, turn the steering wheel from stop to stop 15 to 20 times.
11. Turn the engine OFF and verify the power steering fluid level. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid in SI.
12. Start the engine. Rotate the steering wheel from left to right. Inspect the power steering system for signs of cavitation or fluid aeration, like pump

noise or whining.

13. Turn the engine OFF and verify the fluid level. Repeat the bleed procedure, if necessary.
14. Ensure that there is no evidence of a power steering fluid leak at the power steering inlet hose bolt location.
15. Install passenger side wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in SI.
16. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.
