1.
Remove timing case cove as outlined under ``Timing Case Cover, Replace'' procedure.
2.
Reinstall damper bolt and rotate crankshaft until the valve timing marks on camshaft sprocket and crankshaft sprocket are as close together as
possible. Remove damper bolt without changing position of valve timing marks.
3.
Remove crankshaft oil slinger if equipped, then the camshaft sprocket bolt.
4.
Remove cam sensor magnet on V6-231 models, if equipped.
5.
Pry off the two sprockets and timing chain assembly.
6.
Assemble new chain on sprockets with timing marks aligned and slide assembly onto shafts. Be sure that marks are aligned, Fig. 15.
7.
Install cam sensor magnet on V6-231 models, if equipped.
8.
Install camshaft sprocket bolt and torque to 29-31 ft. lbs.
9.
Install crankshaft oil slinger if equipped and the timing case cover.
