    Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system as described in MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM
DISARMING prior to working on or near the steering column.

Remove turn signal switch as outlined under TURN SIGNAL SWITCH procedure.
