NEW DESIGN SELECTIVE WASHER
MODELS AFFECTED: 1982 AND 1983 THM 200-C, 200-4R, and 325-4L TRANSMISSION
Beginning in late March, 1983, a new design selective washer went into production that is used on the following parts:
^
Turbine shaft to output shaft - THM 200-C
^
Forward clutch shaft to output shaft - THM 200-4R
^
Input shaft to output shaft - THM 325-4L
NEW DESIGN SELECTIVE WASHER
These new parts are made from a different material and can be identified as shown in illustration.
When servicing any THM 200-C, 200-4R, or 325-4L transmission that requires replacement of the selective washer due to wear or damage, use the
following service procedure:
1.
Inspect the two shafts for wear or damage on the selective washer mating surfaces. If wear or damage is found, replace the shafts to prevent future
wear.
2.
Select the proper selective washer from the following chart:

Check the front end play to verify the proper washer selection, following procedures outlined in the service manual. Front end play should be 0.56
